Our Lineage
In April 1967, a young man named David Williams went to work for Friden, a manufacturer of office equipment. He worked hard. Most importantly, he kept his eye on the customer. No matter what, he thought, the customer is the person I have to take care of.
In 1984, David and his wife Anna started their own company, Advanced Business Machines in Buffalo, NY. They started off
as a Friden Dealer. The first year was hard, but the struggle was
worth it.
As the years passed, Friden became Neopost. ABM grew. David and Anna saw the advent of the digital age. Along the way they acquired other companies; Crockett Business Machines, Avcorp Business Systems and Innovative Office Systems. They assembled a depth of experience in the office equipment industry that few others can match.
In 1984, David's son, Richard took his first job with the company, working as a janitor. In 2007 he became president of the company. While he had the inside track for the job, it is true that he started at the bottom.
In 2009, all of the companies assembled by David Williams were re-branded under one name: Lineage. Lineage has always been a family-owned company dedicated to customer service. Regardless of changes in technology, economic conditions or business fad or fancy, Lineage will always do whatever it takes to take care of its customers and its employees. It was true in the 60s. It was true in the 90s. It will be just as true in 2020. At Lineage, the important things never change.
